For Counsel

Strategic Consultation Before Retention.

We encourage attorneys to engage LFPS early in the case. A preliminary consultation can clarify the psychiatric dimensions of a matter, inform discovery strategy, and help counsel make informed decisions about expert retention.

Our Commitment

What Counsel Can Expect.

Consultation Before Retention

We offer preliminary case consultation without requiring formal retention, allowing counsel to assess the value of psychiatric input before committing resources.

Objective Methodology

Our evaluations are grounded in evidence-based psychiatry and established forensic guidelines. We do not advocate — we provide objective clinical analysis that serves the truth of the case.

Responsiveness & Expert Fit

We respond promptly to case inquiries and work with counsel to match the right expert to the specific clinical and legal questions at issue.

Trial Readiness

Our physicians prepare every evaluation with the expectation that it will be tested under rigorous cross-examination. Reports are clear, defensible, and written in legally fluent language.

Engagement Process

From Consultation to Testimony.

1

Initial Consultation

A conversation to understand the matter, identify the relevant psychiatric questions, and assess whether LFPS can add meaningful value. No retention commitment is required at this stage. Please do not transmit protected health information through this initial inquiry.

2

Case Assessment

A focused review of available records and case materials to provide counsel with a preliminary assessment of the relevant clinical and forensic issues in the case. This step helps inform case assessment and decisions regarding formal expert retention.

3

Comprehensive Evaluation

Upon retention, LFPS conducts a thorough forensic psychiatric evaluation, including clinical interview, comprehensive record review, collateral contacts, and validated assessment instruments as indicated.

4

Report & Testimony

Delivery of a clear, defensible forensic report. Our physicians are prepared to present and defend their findings under rigorous cross-examination at deposition and trial.
